This year, my parents wanted to give me a really nice gift, one that I would get much use out of. They consulted me, saying they wanted to get me good upgrade to my aging 3mp digital camera. At first, I was leery - I haven't really been in to photography lately, and I didn't want them spending their hard earned money on something I might not use much. We all were keenly aware of the fact I was starting to hit the limitations of my Konica-Minolta, though. After doing some research on the different D-SLRs on the market, the Nikon D60 appeared to be the perfect camera - not incredibly expensive, upgradeable, and high quality. So, my birthday and Christmas gift this year was a new camera. And so far, I am absolutely loving it. I've found it has a pretty good sensitivity to near-infrared light. I'm looking in to getting a filter for infrared, as I've always been fascinated with IR photography. I tried a DIY infrared filter, but it's not working out so well. The two methods I found are using unexposed color camera film, or the magnetic disk part of the floppy. Both are too small to completely cover my camera lens.
